About the Workshop
Gujarat Technological University PG Research Centre in Cyber Security organize various awareness
and research activity on regular bases for Student and Faculty in the area of Cyber Security and
information Security. GTU PG Research Centre for Cyber Security organize One Day Workshop on
“Challenge in Cyber Security” under ISEA Phase-II Project to devote theoretical and practical aspects
on cyber / information security. Cyber security is a combined effort of technologies, tools, policies
and laws applicable for making cyber world safe. Cyber Security is becoming increasingly important in
today’s world and is impacting every aspect of society including finance, healthcare, government,
education, arts and entertainment.
Cyber security is the body of technologies, processes and practices designed to protect networks,
computers, programs and data from attack, damage or unauthorized access. In a computing
context, security includes both cyber security and physical security.
Ensuring cyber security requires coordinated efforts throughout an information system. Elements
of cyber security include:
• Application security
• Information security
• Network security
• Disaster recovery / business continuity planning
• Operational security
• End-user education
This workshop will impart knowledge about cyber security and its challenges. Here we will have a
detail discussion on the recent threats in context with cyber security in all the fields like social media,
net banking etc. Different offensive and defensive methods would be discussed in this workshop.
The workshop is accessible to both non-experts interested in learning and experts interested in
sharing different techniques and approaches in different fields of cyber security

Selection Criteria:
• Selection will be done based on area of interest in field of cyber security and the confirmed
candidates will be notified. The maximum number of participants will be 100.
